Penny is a sweet gal that has been showing with me for a bunch of years. She frequently is part of a group of alpacas that gathers around visitors spontaneously for petting. Penny is fawn. She is a nice choice for adopt an alpaca.
Munch is a sweet guy, born in 2006, he is our only gelding. He is outgoing, friendly and easy to lead. His job is to help raise up our baby boys. He is brought up to the barn the girls live in and he is companion and role model to the baby boys. This reduces the weaning stress on the cria. Munch is a classic gray.
Fanci Pants has a story which is best told with pictures. She changed quite a bit after she was named. Very friendly, she leads the group that likes to be petted by visitors. Fanci is white.
This is Darcy. She is cute, little and a tease. She loves to come up to you for a kiss and often takes off only to come right back. Darcy is one of the alpacas that I show.
Zion is our senior male, born in 2004, he has been here since he was about a month old. He is Addy's dad, Fanci's granddad and Penny's great-granddad. Zion always showed in the ribbons. Zion in bay black. Sadly Zion has passed away.
Adoption Levels
Bronze level: You get to spend walk time with your alpaca. You can enjoy each other going for a walk in our country pastures (instruction included). This is a super choice for someone who is a hands-on animal person that thinks alpacas are really cool. Alpacas are individuals and we treat them with consideration. Not all are available for walks on lead.
Silver level: You choose either a skein of yarn, a pair of wrist warmers or a hat made from your alpaca’s fiber. We will custom make it for you. You will also receive walk time with your alpaca on lead. Not all alpacas are available for walks on lead. We will provide another alpaca for this if needed.
Gold level you will receive your choice of two skeins of yarn, or a hand-woven or knitted scarf from your alpaca’s fiber. This will be custom made for you. Dying some or all of the yarn so that you have a choice of color, can be done here at the farm. You will also receive walk time with your alpaca on lead. Not all alpacas are available for walks on lead. We will provide another alpaca for this if needed.
Platinum level you will receive a scarf, either hand-woven or hand-knitted. You will also get your choice of these items from your alpaca’s fiber; a skein of yarn, hand-crafted hat, a pair of hand-knitted wrist-warmers. Or you may choose three of these items from your alpaca’s fiber; a skein of yarn, hand-crafted hat, a pair of hand-knitted wrist-warmers. These will be custom made for you. Dying some or all of the yarn so that you have a choice of color, can be done here at the farm. You will also receive walk time with your alpaca on lead. Not all alpacas are available for walks on lead. We will provide another alpaca for this if needed.
Diamond level is, of course, what the alpaca is about, their wonderful fiber! At this level you will receive your alpaca’s prime fiber. This will be from the shearing that your one year adoption falls in. Our shearing date is in May this year. Only one Diamond Adoption for each alpaca per annual shearing. You will also receive walk time with your alpaca on lead. Not all alpacas are available for walks on lead. We will provide another alpaca for this if needed.
To choose your alpaca, call me or text (802) 236-5615 before or after you press "Buy Now" to tell me your choice and to give me the information needed.
Your adoption fees go directly toward the cost of keeping your alpaca over the course of the year. Your adoption does not in any way give you ownership of the alpaca.
The visits to the farm require advance notice, call, text or email me, I operate on first come basis, appointments have top billing.
You are not to be at the farm when a farm person is not present. This is for your safety as the alpacas are tended by a guardian dog.
The alpacas are not to leave the fenced areas of the farm.
It is understood that an animal may be “adopted” by more than one individual at a time.
Most of the alpacas that are offered for adoption are not actively for sale. That said, sometimes unplanned things happen. In the event your animal is sold, you will be able to choose another animal for the duration of your adoption.
You may renew your alpaca adoption or choose a different alpaca, a 10% discount will be applied to the new adoption if it is within 30 days of the end of a previous adoption.
